THE HEART FLAG Specification Version 1.0 (October 2026) Designed by Fennel The Heart Flag is a symbol for the ageplay community: a flag of three horizontal bands with four hearts across the middle band. Every band and heart is a solid color, with no border or outline. STANDARD COLORS --------------- Top band black (#000000) Middle band white (#ffffff) Bottom band black (#000000) Hearts black (#000000) CHOOSING COLORS --------------- Custom coloring is encouraged, but the three bands and four hearts must stay distinguishable. Regions that touch must never read as one: the middle band must stand apart from the top band, the bottom band, and every heart. The top and bottom bands may share a color, and so may the hearts. A quick check: if two touching regions look alike in black and white, they're too close. CONSTRUCTION ------------ Every measurement is a ratio of the flag width W_f, in any unit. Symbol Meaning W_f Flag width H_f Flag height H_b Band height W_h Heart width H_h Heart height M_o Outer margin M_i Inner margin R_c Lobe circle radius D_v Control point depth Symbol Definition At W_f = 5850 W_f Base unit 5850 H_f 2/3 W_f 3900 H_b 1/3 H_f 1300 W_h 2/13 W_f 900 H_h 2/15 W_f 780 M_o same as W_h 900 M_i 1/6 W_h 150 R_c 17/60 W_h 255 D_v 4/5 H_h 624 D_v is measured down from the top of the heart's bounding box. LAYOUT ------ The flag is 2:3: two units tall for every three wide. It is split into three equal horizontal bands, each H_b tall. The four hearts are centered vertically in the middle band, with an outer margin at each end and an inner margin between neighboring hearts. These add up exactly to the width of the flag: W_f = 2 M_o + 3 M_i + 4 W_h HEARTS ------ 1. Start with a bounding box W_h wide and H_h tall. 2. Fit a circle of radius R_c into the top-left corner, touching the top and left sides of the box. 3. Draw a Bezier curve from where the circle touches the left side of the box to the center of the bottom edge. Only the end at the circle gets a control point, placed on the left side of the box at D_v, measured down from the top of the box. The end at the bottom of the bounding box has no control point. 4. Repeat on the right side, mirrored: a circle in the top-right corner and a curve down to the same bottom point. The two circles overlap, and the point where they cross forms the dip between the lobes. 5. The heart's outline is the outer arc of each circle, from where it touches the side of the box up over the top to where the circles cross, then the two curves down to the bottom point.
